Spring Concert May 20th

The Washington International Chorus holds its spring concert, "Love in Many Forms," on May 20, 2016.




First Congregational Church of Christ, 945 G Street NW


We shall be singing songs of love and remembrance in various languages including the choral premiere of Toro Nagashi (13th century Japanese poems set to music by Peter Bird).

The concert will feature a special performance by Iranian musicians Kazem Davoudian and Hossein Keshavarz of Goftam Ghame To Daaram (Poem by the 14th century poet Hafez).

A reception will follow the concert.


Adults: $15

Students: $7

Children (12 and under): free

Chorus rehearsals begin again on Tuesday, January 12th

The Washington International Chorus resumes rehearsals for our spring season on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 7-9 pm at the Universalist National Church at the corner of 16th and S Sts NW.  We rehearse in the main sancturary.  If the door is locked accidentally, call 202-236-3743 to let us know you are out there!! 



Holiday Concert December 19th

The Washington International Chorus holds its fall Holiday Concert on December 19, 2015 at 7:30 pm at the Universalist National Church at the corner of 16th and S Sts NW.  We shall be singing holiday songs from various traditions in French, German, Latin, Spanish, English, Ukranian, Bulgarian and other languages.  Reception in the church hall follows the concert .  Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for students and children.  You may pay on this website through Paypal or pay at the door.  Open seating.

The second half of the concert includes selections for soloists and chorus from Handel's Messiah.  The audience may join in for carols at the end of the concert. 

Reception follows in the church social hall. 



Chorus sings carols in The Willard lobby on Dec. 10th

At the invitation of The Willard Hotel, members of the Washington International Chorus will sing holiday carols in The Willard lobby on the evening of December 10th led by our conductor, Josh Brown with accompaniment by Stephen Bertino.  Our first appearance is from 5:30-6:15 pm.  Our second appearance is from 6:45-7:30 pm. 

Anyone is welcome to come to hear us.  There is no charge. 



Picnic August 29th 4-6 pm

The welcome back picnic for the chorus and potential new singers is Saturday, August 29th from 4-6 pm at 11122 Nicholas Dr. Silver Spring MD 20902.  Please bring a dish since this is a potluck.  No one seems to have a grill so don't plan to barbeque.  Low cal healthy food appreciated!!  The location is within walking distance from the Wheaton metro station - come up from the metro on the side of Georgia Ave where the high rise Safeway store is - walk a block downhill and turn left on Amhearst, at University Blvd cross to the far side of University and walk down to a left on Nicholas Dr.  There is no light at Nicholas to get you across four lanes of traffic.  If coming by car, street parking is available. 

First regular chorus rehearsal is Tues from 7-9 pm at the Universalist National Church at 16th and S Sts NW in DC.  We will be preparing to sing on October 9th with Dimitar Nikolov's orchestra - one song in Bulgarian and one song in English.  Anyone who still has the Stephen Foster medley from our spring 2014 concert bring it with you to the first rehearsal as well as your copy of Ludgidiya.
