"Tune Thy Music to Thy Heart:" Spring Season underway

The chorus is preparing a wonderfully diverse spring program, including music in Estonian, Dutch, Turkish, Tamil, and Malayalam. We welcome you to join as a singer, or tune thy music to thy heart at our spring concert on Friday, May 18 at 7:30, at the Capitol Hill United Methodist Church at 421 Seward Square SE, Washington, DC 20003. 


Spring 2018 season begins

Rehearsals for the Spring 2018 season begin Tuesday January 9 at 7:00 p.m. The Spring concert,"Tune Thy Music to Thy Heart," will take place in May. We always welcome new singers. See you there!


New season rehearsals begin January 9, 2018

The Chorus is on holiday break after the December 15, 2017 concert, and will begin rehearsing for its Spring season on January 9, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. with new music for a late May/early June concert. 

We welcome new singers throughout the year, but the ideal time to join is at the beginning of a new season, so we hope to see you at the Universalist Memorial Church, 1810 16th St NW, Washington DC 20009, on Tuesday January 9!


Choral Singing and Community

The Washington International Chorus is a non-auditioned community chorus devoted to making music together to celebrate and expand the cultural riches of our region and our world. We sing a varied repertoire of classical music ancient and modern. The chorus has performed in many languages, including Welsh, Swedish, Bulgarian, Russian, Latin, German, Yoruba and Japanese. Our chorus community is also diverse, and welcomes all who love to sing.


"The Four Elements" concert date announced

The Winter Concert will take place Friday, December 15, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at the Universalist Memorial Church at 1810 16th St NW, Washington D.C. From early music (Monteverdi and Morley) to spirituals to the newest music (Eric Whitacre), by way of Haydn and Mendelssohn, the chorus will sing a concert celebrating Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. Mark your calendar!

The cost of tickets for each concert is $15 for adults, $5 for students over 12 and free for children under 12. Receptions follow each concert in the church hall or parlor.  Tickets may be purchased in advance using Paypal (click on Donations and tickets note on right hand side of this page) and will be held at "will call".  Tickets also may be purchased at the door.
