Joshua Brown, Conductor for Four Years Resigns

Joshua Brown, the Conductor of the Washington International Chorus for the past four years is moving on to pursue other opportunities.  He has contributed much to the success of the chorus which has grown from fewer than 20 singers to almost 50 in 2018.  Our concerts have included a wide range of classical music that demonstrated Mr. Brown's versatility as a musician and conductor.  He has been a teacher for our singers, and has been comfortable with raising the quality of a non-professional choral group in which auditions have not been required. We wish him well in his future endeavors.

Mr. Brown, in addition to conducting, is a classical vocalist, and teacher of music.  As a classically trained baritone, he has performed in operas, recitals, and concerts at various venues including the Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, Atlas Performing Arts Center, and many other venues throughout the DC Metropolitan area and abroad. As a music educator, he has taught and conducted musicians of all ages and abilities from Kindergarten to adult. As a believer in the power of music to form bonds of cultural appreciation and human understanding, he very much enjoys being the conductor of the Washington International Chorus.
